I bought a book

My dear friend and thrift store enthusiast, took me on an adventure to Savers this past weekend.  I was nervous from the moment we pulled into the parking lot.  Bless her heart, she knew I would be and so prepared me appropriately beforehand with pep talks, while also selecting the least dirty thrift store within the surrounding areas in which we would do our shopping.  When walking into the store she told me to make note of the pungent aroma that would immediately take hold of me and to not be alarmed as this is what a thrift store is supposed to smell like.  She then proceeded to teach me her thrifting ways:  sections to be sure to comb through thoroughly, what items are defined as a "great find", particular people to avoid, and particular people to stalk as they are the shoppers who always find the best finds and who might put said item back on a shelf within but a moment, and we must be ready to make a move.  After sufficient searching and a lot of me staring in questioning disbelief, we ended up in the books.  Both an affordable and safe purchase, given my present state of mind.  And a book I indeed did find to purchase for $1.06.  My first real trip to a thrift store followed immediately by my first real purchase.  Number 6...done!
